NEWSFLASH RE: JANUARY TERM ON THE WRITING TRAIN!
Dear email list members and blog readers,
Here is an updated list of dates and details for NEW JANUARY TERM at Writing Train. I hope to be back working with you all soon, and bringing with me a bit more wisdom after delivering my own 70,000 word or so manuscript to its editor. It’s only seven years after I first contemplated the idea of writing it!
To make sure that I have my desk and head clear before new term starts, I am setting back a few start dates. Please check this listing below if you’re interested in classes as start dates are now closer to the end of January in most cases, with a couple of sessions now beginning in first week in Feb. I hope that will work out alright for you.
For longer terms, chiefly the Wednesday morning ADVANCED WORKSHOP and THURSDAY NIGHT Advanced workshop, it will mean your course will see you right through to the summer! And if you’re writing poetry and fortnightly sessions appeal to you, take a look at the Glasthule Developing Poet fortnightly meets. If Glasthule appeals to you as a workshop venue (my house, with the fire lit and a river of tea!), check out the ‘join up point’ for Friday night sessions at my house: Friday 18th January, for 5 meetings, is the current option I’m offering there.
FROM HISTORY TO STORY: researched Creative Writing course.
MONDAY afternoons, NATIONAL LIBRARY, from Jan 21st. 10 weeks.
If a daytime session looking at how history and research
become story is your bag, MONDAY JAN 21st 2.00 – 4.30 in
NLI cafe Joly sees a 10-week term of my FROM HISTORY TO
STORY course (2 hr meets). Learning from my experience writing researched non-fiction (learning as much from all I did wrong as anything else, I add!) and using the library’s fine resources, I hope to help you get a non-fiction or fiction researched project on the road in this course. This course has run with me twice very successfully at the IWC. Fee €260.
MONDAY NIGHT START TO WRITE kicks off a new 10-week term on MONDAY 28th JANUARY. Venue is the lovely UNITED ARTS CLUB, Fitzwillliam Street, from 6.45 – 9 pm each week and the fee is €265.
