The gang will all be there: new term at Writing Train!

Writing Trains warming up for their winter terms, with myself, (that’s Yvonne C!) in the driver’s cab in each case,  include:

A SIX-WEEK Saturday Writing Workshop, at Cafe Joly, National Library, Kildare Street, Dublin, starting Sat.NOV 3rd. 2- 4.00 p.m. €160.

A SIX WEEK DEVELOPING WRITERS’ CLASS & WORKSHOP, to get you going on a specific project, or get you started writing in a specific form, will start on NOV 6th. at the UNITED ARTS CLUB. DUBLIN 2. Fee: €160.

SIX WEEK THURSDAY NIGHT ADVANCED WRITERS’ WORKSHOP  – a short set for the long-running THURSDAY NIGHT WRITING TRAIN – will start on November 1st. just to bring us nicely up to Christmas. This set of sessions should get you ready to work more effectively on your projects and writing goals through 2013.  This workshop has produced novelists, memoir writers, published and award-winning poets and short story writers since its inception in 2004. Spaces rarely come up here, and a number of participants will be returning to do this short season, but this set of 6 meetings is also open to ‘all comers’ who are ready for an advanced workshop environment.  An ideal opportunity to check this workshop out at a small portion of a full term’s fee. €165.

EGHT WEEK “Monday Night Start to Write,” course,  United Arts Club, Fitzwilliam Street, D.2. STARTS MONDAY 5 NOV. 8 x 2.25 hour meets for fee of €265. Sessions running 6.45 – 9 pm. Includes 2 final sessions on 7 & 14 January. The last term of START TO WRITE saw participant Paul Ennis read at our National Library Culture Night event, for an audience of 150, so I look forward to seeing what we’ll manage in term two!

If, with winter drawing in, you wish you had signed up for a Saturday morning START TO WRITE course, I can still take ‘joiners’ in the National Library Cafe this Saturday, October 20th! 7 sessions from this date for €175. Six sessions from Sat. 3 November for €155.

FRIDAY NIGHTS IN GLASTHULE starting 9 Nov.: 10 sessions for developing writers who want support with specific projects or with work in specific forms. 5 meetings each side of Christmas in my cosy book-filled house in Glasthule. This session will be as focused as any I run elsewhere, but it will definitely also be the most comfortable and cosy class of the week!  STARTS Friday 9 November: runs November 9, 16, 23, 30, DEC 7,  and January: 13th 20th, 27th, Feb 10th.  17th. Fee: €270

Outlined day by day below:

MONDAYS: Daytime: History to Story writing with research; Monday Nights, START TO WRITE.

If a daytime session looking at how history and research become story is your bag, MONDAY JAN 21st 2.00 – 4.30 in NLI cafe Joly sees a 10 week term of my FROM HISTORY TO STORY course ( 2 hr meets). Learning from my experience writing researched non-fiction ( learning as much from all I did wrong as anything else, I add!) and using the library’s fine resources, I hope to help you get a non-fiction or fiction researched project on the road in this course. This course has run with me twice very successfully at the IWC. Fee €260.
