Inishbofin Jaunt: last few spaces going now!

And we’ll be going on 19th July! Laptops and togs at the ready!

Inishbofin is up ahead once more for Writing Train: coming up on Thursday 19th for those of you who are attending, and for me on 18th as I go to make straight the way; ), and to do a bit of book/ documentary research in Cleggan. Looking forward to that, as well, hoping to meet some older folk from the area who knew some of the travelling show people whose lives I’m relating. And looking forward to the Wednesday night sleep in Cleggan, in Olivers’ Bar B and B, in a bed so wonderful I’ll have to excavate under all the sheets and mattress covers before I leave THIS time, to find out what magical bedmaker made it!

On Bofin, we’ll have a pair of two day courses, and time for swims and congenial meals. And Bofin will gift us all sorts of other stuff as it always does, fab outpost of Ireland, spot of wild Atlantic life that it is.

Info about taking part in and booking the Jaunt is under the JAUNT tab above, and you can see pictures from recent trips in the SLIDESHOW.

In honour of our upcoming event, and in hope of moving a couple more of you to take up the last couple of places on said July Jaunt, here are lines from one of my last trips west, about the effect this kind of travel can have on you…

Heading west

Still so glad to be on this road, the same

Barred-gate-lover, frieze-of-hawthorns –lover

Happy here and happier over there.

The same piece of grit, worked and moved

Inside this mother-of-pearl day.
