Hi everyone and Happy New Year! Here’s some info for current participants, and a full round-up of what I’m offering new and returning students in the new Spring term too.
If your current course has sessions to run in January, your final session dates are as follows:
Weds a.m Writing Train, 5th, 19th, 26th Jan United Arts Club. Week off followed by new term start Weds Feb 9th!
Weds night fortnightly Writing Train final session of last term, 19 January. New term starts Weds Feb 2nd.
Thursday night Writing Train resumes Thurs 6th Jan, with sessions that night, plus 20 Jan and Jan 27th. New Term starts Feb 3rd.
RE NEW SPRING TERM.
There are a number of options if you want to be involved in Writing Train in 2011.
Planning to return to your current workshop for a follow-up term, or coming back to take a new Writing Train course or workshop?
2010 students pay 2010 fees again this year!
All courses are booking now and from Jan 4th will be reaching a wide potential student body via Google adverts, so…
A: IF YOU WANT TO TAKE PART IN A FULL WRITING TRAIN TERM OF WORKSHOPS or to book a COURSE: to be sure to secure a place, book and pay full fee as soon as possible by cheque or paypal ( I will send you out a paypal request if you email and request this, and cheques go to Yvonne Cullen at 2 Lower Eden Road, Glasthule Co Dublin.
B: IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR FLEXIBLE OPTIONS:
This term I’m offering a limited number of shorter term spaces in workshops. Each WORKSHOP will this term offer:
- TWO places for returning students wishing to “pay as they go,” (just one of these remaining in Thursday night WT at this stage).
- Two places available in each intermediate or advanced workshop for people wishing to buy ten CONSECUTIVE sessions instead of Tuesday’s full course of 12, Thursday’s full complement of 15, Wednesday fortnightly’s full complement of 16, or Wednesday a.m’s full complement of 14 sessions. Please contact me immediately if interested in these options.
C: IF YOU’d LIKE TO MAKE UP MISSED NIGHTS IN OTHER WORKSHOP GROUPS:
To help with busy schedules, or to access the widest possible peer group for feedback and support, any participant in any intermediate or advanced workshop will be welcome to attend any workshop each week, to their full complement of classes in the term. Times and venues for these are:
Tuesday night 6.30 – 9 p.m, at Sweny’s Westland Row
Wednesday morning 10.30 – 1 p.m., at the United Arts Club
Wednesday night fortnightly at Sweny’s, 6.30 – 9 p.m.
Thursday night at City Arts Centre, Bachelors’ Walk, 6.30 – 9 p.m.
Friday daytime n Glasthule from February 2011.
Saturday Developing Poet workshop at United Arts Club. 3.00 – 5.30 p.m.
Credits carrying forward
From this term onwards, ( i.e, relating to sessions missed this term or afterwards) two sessions-worth of credit for missed classes to value of €45 may also be applied to the cost of a follow –up term.
€20 vouchers for new members.
Some €20 off Vouchers also remain for friends of current participants.
Discounts for second-study courses
Twnty per cent Discounts will apply to participants taking One Day or other second-study courses on top of their ‘home’ class or workshop.

Thanks again for your input into the great autumn term 2010. I’m expecting all classes to be full and thriving this Spring, and I’ll be delighted to have you join me there. Our last one will appear as a documentary clip on LYRIC F.M in mid-January, and the forthcoming one ( Date TBA either 22 or 29 Jan) looks set to be filmed as well!
